Flower Team Volunteer (St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester)
At St Richard’s Hospital we hope volunteering is a place for you to learn, connect, and make a difference. Why Volunteer at St Richard’s Hospital?
- To Help Improve the Hospital Environment
- Satisfaction: Being a volunteer is good for you! Research shows volunteering can boost your physical and mental health. Volunteering is linked to lower rates of depression, stress, and hospitalisation too. Volunteers are physically active, getting out and having new experiences. As a volunteer at St Richard’s Hospital, you will connect with our network of committed volunteers and staff. Duties may include the following: • Arrange flowers donated by bereaved families into displays for the corridors and windowsills at the hospital. • Manage the flower displays in the corridor by regular watering and discarding flowers past their best. • Talk to patients and families if you are out in the corridors and give directions if required. • Occasionally fill in if other flower volunteers are ill or on holidays. • Clean up used vases/containers and take waste to the designated area.
